What are MOVES and why should I care?

Ill start by saying I like this app and its ability to store my programmed workouts as established by my gym in Oklahoma. Its nice to know what todays workout is when Im traveling so that I can try to stay on track. Its great that it syncs with my gym to record the work Ive done each day. Where developers have fallen short is in the failure to show how many calories you burned after a workout. Seriously? Are we on the same planet? The lack of calories burned takes an otherwise well done app and makes it laughable. Ive never read a nutrition label and found how many MOVES Id have to perform to burn off a slice of pizza. How can you even take yourselves seriously? Its a fitness app and I think its juvenile to use any language other than the vernacular of the industry. Last week my gym was having trouble with the Technogym kiosks and so the system was unable to record the calories burned in my workout. It was inconvenient but I grabbed my phone and began tediously recording my workout. After entering everything manually I was only given my total MOVES. As a result I wasnt able to record my daily calories burned on My Fitness Pal app, which doesnt sync with MyWellness. Please correct this major flaw and Id gladly give this app 5 stars.

Worked great the first week but...

The Vario ellipticals at my gym have been displaying 1000+ MOVEs for my workouts while the app only registers about 75-80% of them in the same exercises. Apparently the mywellness Technogym support line had a language barrier that prevents the gym staff from being able to fix this issue. I would deduct a star each week until it gets fixed, but patience s wearing thin.

Crashes sometimes

It crashes when you try to open the new linked accounts option.

Clunky

I would not use this app if it wasnt in my gym. It takes forever to add an exercise, at least 8 clicks and you cannot edit an exersice once its been saved. Also, you cant create a custom program or add exercises that you repeat every workout to a program. Not to mention the equipment needs to have an internet connection, which hasnt been available for a month at my gym because the equipment are bandwidth hogs.

Its ok

My gym uses the fancy new Technogym equipment and for that it works great. I scan the barcode and I can track my workouts. Sadly not all equipment has the barcode and as such I can track them. Even if I try and search for it manually it does not find the machine. This means it only tracks half my workout and u dont get a proper result. Also Ive noticed an annoying bug. It pauses my music when I go into the section to manually track the machine workouts. Why?? Im using my phone at gym for music and each time I use the app it cuts my music off. Really annoying!!

Great! But could use ...

Great app tracking my activities in and out of the gym. But a feature allowing for comments would help. Like I am sick this week so unable to workout. No way to record it for later tracking vs just slacking.

This app is a joke.

The idea is there but the execution is horrible. The app is constantly "refreshing" and get stuck or lagging and it never logs your workouts when you scan the QR code on your machine. Unless it gets some serious bug fixes dont waste your time.

Good but not great, just yet...

Good app, serves its purpose. I would ask that the app not interfere with iPhone music. Every time you log a set, music goes off for the button sounds. Gamers listen to music guys! A past 15 exercises drop down when you want to log an exercise would also be useful. Thank you!

Worst update ever!

Instead of fixing bugs, you guys made the application worse. Now whenever I train with my account and open Flipboard the entire machine crashes!! Waste of energy!!

Terrible app! Waste of time

This app is so complicated. An app like this should be quick and easy to use during work outs. It never logs my work outs in, and it gives bad directions on how to input information. I wish it worked better because its a cool idea. Please fix it.

Works sometimes

When the app works its great. But thats very rare. Usually manual entrys do not get recorded and the app will say 0moves complete. So working out at home is useless. Bugs on bugs on bugs

Navigating this app is a pain!

I do like that it syncs with MyFitnessPal, but learning to navigate and get the most from this app and the machines is like rocket science. Ive done so many duplicate entries that it says I trained like an athlete, and I KNOW that cant be right. I want an accurate count of calories burned and for the app to save that info and make it easily accessible. Supposedly you can manipulate settings to turn MOVES into calories burned, but I havent found how to make that happen.

No iPhone 6 support

Itd be great to take advantage of the bigger screen.

Needs a LOT of help.

I’ve been trying…and I mean TRYING to use this app for about a month since my gym updated to Technogym equipment. The app is way more convoluted to use than it should be. If there is any wi-fi problem in the gym, the app is pretty much useless, it seems to rely on both the equipment AND the device being online. I don’t get why I can’t just pair and let my phone capture the data from equipment if the bike/treadmill is offline? My gym has been having wi-fi problems so most of the time the phone can’t ever connect to the equipment. There are bugs in the use of QR codes (can’t figure out if NFC works with the equipment and iPhones). I laugh that I get an ‘unrecognized’ QR code sometimes right off Technogym equipment. You have to do goofy things for starting and stopping workouts, that have honestly caused me to not record workouts more than record them. I’m also disappointed in how limited the data return into HealthKit is, as far as I can tell, it does not feed distance into my running/biking, so I still have to enter those manually. It’s kind of a mess…with good intentions. I was going to say that if this worked, it has some nice features, but after thinking about it, i can’t even say that. Maybe it’s trying to do too much?. I hope the developers go back to the basics. Start by just making sure that the app can always connect to my device to record data (it’s a phone! let it handle the connectivity!). Make the starting a stopping of workout tracking simple and easy. Make sure it always syncs the data. Once you’ve got that working…then, slowly think about expanding features, but don’t break the basics.

Very poor HealthKit integration

After issuing a press release almost a year ago saying that they were incorporating HealthKit, it only reads walking and running data, which means I need to enter workout data manually into my other health apps like LoseIt. So half the time I just enter my workouts straight into LoseIt rather than bothering with MyWellness.

Nice idea bad execution

Its user interface is bumbling- both with the interface with the equipment and manual entry of workouts. There are five of us who cant figure out how to simply delete a workout which somehow got incorrectly double counted. Noticed online others have these issues. Recommend not getting committed to this as a workout log until theyve worked out these bugs.

Dont waste space on your phone !

Can any of the app developers tell me , whats the point of this app ? I am pretty good with technology , but this app makes no sense and its completely useless ! So I connect the app with the technogym equipment and it doesnt transfer anything .
